Breath of Scandal by Sandra Brown

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I've never read any of Sandra Brown's so I didn't know what to expect but was hooked early on.  Suspenseful twists in the plot kept coming without making the whole thing trite as many books in this genre tend to do. I was impressed by the quality of the writing and the broad vocabulary. The title 'Breath of Scandal' didn't give me the impression that this would be a particularly aggressive exercise for my intellect but it was a much better quality read than I unfairly speculated it would be.
Adolescent character, Graham, was easy to love and he brought a nice light element and some humor to the book. He's funny and typical and endearing because of it.
There were multiple graphic sex scenes and typically this is a turn off for me, no pun intended, but in this case it seemed appropriate. The story of a brutally raped woman attempting to rediscover the beauty in physical relationships would be unfinished without a sexual component.
