The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

The writing in this novel is beautifully done. Kim Edwards is nothing less than a word smith. She also had a terrific and compelling idea for her book. The only thing missing was a plot. 400+ pages of the slow degradation of a family is long and boring, no matter the vocabulary employed or the word weaving articulated. Phoebe was the only character that I really wanted to know better and ironically she's the only one that we don't hear every single waking thought from. I've had this book for a long time and have looked forward to reading it; sure glad that's over :0)
